The Rolex Datejust is one of the most iconic and beloved Rolex watches ever made. One of the largest evolutions for the Rolex Datejust model lineup was at the end of the 1970s with the introduction of the first "flat dial" Datejust. The movement was vastly upgraded to the Rolex cal. 3035 quick-set movement. These Datejust variations are often referred to as "transitional" as they still feature the more classic acrylic crystals and tritium lume whilst housing many advancements.

CASE & BRACELET
The case is in strong overall condition showing thick and symmetrical lugs that don't show evidence of being previously polished but exhibit a subtle sleeve polish from wear. The unpolished 18K yellow gold fluted bezel is in extremely crisp condition with a subtle rosy patina present and almost no signs of use. The case back retains crisp finishing as well. The watch comes supplied on a 2pc handmade leather strap.
DIAL & HANDS
The beautiful metallic yellow "lemon" dial is in flawless condition, showing no damage or age. The tritium lume plots display no degradation and have taken on a handsome creamy patina. The original tritium hands match the dial nicely, under U.V. light inspection the hands exhibit some superficial cracking but remains completely stable with no real lume loss. The metallic gold date wheel is original with "open" 6's and 9's.
